6. Punctual and consistent attendance. Job Description: Responsible for the educational programming for disabled students in grades 6, 7 and 8. Areas of emphasis may include instruction reading, language, math, social skills and study skills. This school will serve children from all ethnic and socio-economic levels. The teacher will be expected to: 1. Organize IEP meetings and provide appropriate assessments of students. 2. Plan appropriate programs for students in conjunction with IEP Team members for a wide range of disabled students. 3. Write goals and objectives that facilitate and measure student growth. 4. Maintain proper records and facilitate necessary paperwork and forms. 5. Communicate on a regular and frequent basis with parents and teachers. 6. Assume responsibility for productive use of a classroom paraprofessional. 7. Consult with and work closely with regular education teachers and other specialists in a team situation about the educational programming of special services students. 8. Select and utilizes teaching styles, methods and activities that meet the needs of individual students. 9. Adapt and adjust curriculum: manage time effectively. 10. Plan for and accommodate different learning styles. 11. Work effectively with students individually, in small and in large groups. 12. Work cooperatively in a team teaching situation sharing facilities and resources. 13. Appreciate the confidential nature of his/her work. 14. Work with students in a positive and enthusiastic manner. 15. Implement the requirements of IDEA, Section 504, and ADA in the education of students with disabilities. 16. Experience and/or training to work with and understand students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other associated disorders. 17. Experience in teaming with general classroom teachers, special education teachers, IEP Teams, and community agencies to develop programs for students with behavior disorders. 18.
