Job title: External Vacancy- Paraprofessional Company: NYE County School District Job description: School-wide Special Education Paraprofessional to assist classroom teachers and students with special education services across a variety of settings; including, but not limited to; School campus, General Education, Resource, and Self-Contained classrooms. Location: JG Johnson Elementary School Hours: 6.5 hours per day Salary Range: $17.90 to $21.68 per hour Job Goal: To assist teaching staff and/or special education, early childhood, speech, 504 plan students in a variety of instructional activities during the instructional school day. Qualifications:

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• Paraprofessional requirements as per ESSA (48 College Credits or Passing ETS Paraprofessional Assessment, Proof of Qualification to be Uploaded in Application)
• Correct English usage and grammar
• Knowledge of educational, behavioral and emotional principles and techniques
• Ability to relate to adults and children of all ages, particularly those with a handicapping condition
• Current CPR certification and First Aid training
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to assist with toileting needs

Successful candidate may be required to attend training provided by the district in the following areas:

• Modifications and accommodations for students with Autism and Emotional Handicap
• Dealing with a variety of behaviors (emotional regulations)
• Visual scheduling, communications systems, etc
• Working with accommodations within integrated settings
• Non-violent Crisis Intervention
