100% Remote Full-time Open now

About MindFriend

MindFriend is a psychology-led creative platform focused on producing high-quality digital content across mental health, psychology, and human performance. We create engaging short-form video, YouTube content, and long-form podcast media that is both impactful and visually compelling.

We are looking for a talented Video Editor to join our creative team. The Video Editor will be responsible for turning raw footage into polished, engaging content across reels, YouTube, and Spotify podcast formats, ensuring all output aligns with MindFriend’s brand, tone, and communication goals.

Key Responsibilities:

•Edit raw video footage into cohesive, high-quality final outputs for social media (Reels/TikTok/Shorts), YouTube, and podcast distribution

•Create fast-paced, engaging short-form edits optimised for retention and storytelling

•Edit and sync podcast audio and video content for Spotify and YouTube releases

•Incorporate motion graphics, subtitles, music, sound design, and visual effects to enhance engagement

•Ensure consistent visual identity, pacing, and tone across all content

•Organise and maintain structured media libraries, project files, and version control

•Collaborate closely with content creators, producers, and marketing teams to meet deadlines and creative direction

•Optimise content for platform-specific requirements (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify)

Requirements & Qualifications

•Proven experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio (short-form content, YouTube, and/or podcast editing essential)

•Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent professional editing software

•Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, audience retention, and visual composition

•Experience working with colour correction and colour grading, with the ability to maintain consistency across multiple reels and content series

•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines

•Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in file management and version control

•Excellent written and spoken English (fluent proficiency required)

•Comfortable working remotely and collaborating in a fast-moving creative environment

Technical Requirements (Mandatory)

•Colour grading capability: Demonstrated experience in applying consistent colour grading across multi-episode or multi-reel content, ensuring visual continuity and brand alignment

•Software proficiency: Clear working knowledge of editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent)

•Hardware setup: Ability to confirm current editing setup and ensure it is capable of handling high-resolution video workflows efficiently

•Export standards: All reels must be delivered in 1080p vertical format with a minimum bitrate of 32,000 kbps. Editors must be able to consistently meet these export requirements and confirm typical export settings (codec, resolution, frame rate)

•Audio licensing: Use of copyrighted music is not permitted. Candidates must have access to a licensed music library and confirm which platforms or libraries they use (e.g., Epidemic Sound, Artlist, etc.)

Engagement Structure:

Please note this role will not begin as a full-time position. We will start with a trial period involving a small number of paid projects, allowing us to assess fit, quality, and working style on both sides.

All work during this stage will be paid per project, with the opportunity to transition into a longer-term and potentially full-time arrangement based on performance and mutual fit.

What We’re Looking For:

We value editors who understand narrative, pacing, psychology-driven storytelling, and audience engagement—especially in short-form content where retention is key. You should be comfortable working independently, iterating quickly, and maintaining a high creative standard across multiple deliverables.

To Apply:

Please apply and we will send over pre-screening questions and an editing task.
