The Opportunity

As a Customer Service Representative in the Housing Customer Service Center, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our students, faculty, staff, parents, and guests. You will be the face of arenaflex, ensuring that every interaction is positive, friendly, and helpful. Your role will involve:

  • Providing customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external customers, meeting their needs, offering options, resolving problems, and following up with customers to ensure full satisfaction.
  • Providing information regarding policies and procedures, terms, and programs related to the service area for students, parents, faculty, administrators, staff, and outside customers.
  • Identifying and prioritizing problems and issues related to the service area, performing research, offering solutions, options, and strategies, and referring to the appropriate person or department as needed.
  • Using information systems to input data, maintain databases, perform research for projects or issues, generate reports, and more.
  • Studying and maintaining currency with all applicable policies and procedures, contracts, and related legal issues.
  • Interpreting terms and conditions of contracts, authorizing changes or exceptions to contract terms, generating contracts for forms for distribution.
  • Processing applications, releases, cancellations, adjustments, changes, requests, fees, invoices, and other related paperwork, maintaining quality and quantity standards.
  • Representing the department to students, parents, faculty, administrators, staff, and other outside customers, and making formal presentations as assigned.
  • Training, scheduling, assigning, and prioritizing workloads, interpreting operating policies and procedures, ensuring timely completion of departmental work, and leading student workers.
  • Notifying appropriate personnel in the event of an emergency, maintaining complete and accurate records of all student- or staff-related safety incidents.
  • Providing services, including processing and delivery of mail and packages, receiving key deposits, issuing keys, and maintaining and balancing a cash drawer on a daily basis.
  • Composing memos and letters based on knowledge of departmental and University policies and procedures, compiling statistical reports and studies as requested.

The Qualifiers

* Minimum Education: High School Diploma. Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience.

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year. Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience.
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Customer Service.
  • Valid CA driver's license required. Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System. A copy of DMV record will be required as a final condition of employment. For more information, please visit the policy website.
