Mining Inside Sales Application Engineer
Cornell Pump Company is a leading manufacturer of centrifugal pumps and is seeking an Inside Sales Application Engineer to join their Mining Market team in Clackamas, OR. The role involves supporting customers with equipment selection, managing quotes, and building strong relationships while also assisting with product demonstrations and larger projects.
Responsibilities
- Answer customer questions by phone and email about equipment selection
- Help customers choose the right pump models using technical information (BOMs, curves, dimensions)
- Prepare quotes and process sales orders
- Follow up with leads and existing customers
- Address technical and business questions or concerns
- Provide product demonstrations when needed
- Support and manage larger projects
- Build strong relationships with dealers, customers, and coworkers
- Represent the company at dealer events, trade shows, and customer visits (some travel required)
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience
- 1-2 years of inside sales or related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Mining industry knowledge is a plus
