What You’ll Do

  • Assist and communicate with the HR Manager on day-to-day operations.
  • Perform all phases of the payroll processing cycle and maintain payroll records for all assigned companies, internal and external.
  • Conduct onboarding and offboarding in the HRIS. Meet with new hires to provide training on the HRIS self-service portal and meet with departing employees to conduct exit interviews.
  • Ensure the HRIS captures all relevant data for employee profiles and payroll (wage changes, benefit enrollments, retirement elections, deductions, taxes, etc).
  • Prepare reports, forms, audits, and surveys on a routine basis and as requested.
  • Maintain employee handbook, recommending modifications where appropriate. Ensure timely distribution of changes to all employees.
  • Stay informed of local, state and federal regulations for all states where the company employs personnel. Maintain payroll compliance with all applicable rules, including completion of required filings.
  • Participate in numerous annual audits.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees for all human resources related needs, including pay, benefits, retirement plan, taxes, leave of absence, etc.
  • Monitor employee morale and company culture. Recommend employee programs to achieve work/life balance.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders: retirement plan representatives, benefit brokers, software providers, external auditors, taxing authorities, etc.
  • Provide support across the human resources department.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years' experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of automated payroll systems and understanding of current payroll and human resources practices.
  • ADP experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including fluency with excel formulas.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks with accuracy and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive and personal matters.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Efficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.

This position is being hired with a flexible work location and may be filled at either an entry or skilled level, commensurate with experience.
