Job title: Student Services Associate Company: Wilmington University Job description: EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY DATE: September 28, 2023 FROM: Human Resources POSITION: Student Services Associate (PT) Effective immediately: (2 PT) Student Services Associate, Administrative Affairs Department, Wilmington University, Brandywine Campus. Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate?s degree is preferred. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service, time management, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment amidst interruptions and fluctuating workloads is necessary. Must have a proven ability to execute instructions accurately and in a timely manner. Must have knowledge of compiling and creating reports, as well as, interpreting information, making determinations and recommendations. Familiarity with evaluating documents and applications, reading, comprehending, and reviewing student records. Must have strong administrative, organizational, and prioritization skills. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently, as well as work successfully in a team environment. Must be able to type 35-55 wpm. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of database systems including data entry and queries is required. Must also be knowledgeable in Outlook and Banner SIS is preferred. The ability to maintain professionalism and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner is a must. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Provide a full range of student services support to students, faculty and the general public by responding to inquiries and requests for information and assistance in person, online or by telephone.
  • Assist and inform prospects, applicants, students, and alumni regarding student service processes, procedures and policies, which include, but are not limited to: admissions, assessment/testing; financial aid; graduation; registration; career services; student success center, and veterans? services.
  • Collaborate with Student Life and share programs, events, and engagement information with students.
  • Assist the Student Success Center by providing student support and resources such as: placement assessment; tutoring information and lab hours; learning resources such as Canvas; and Library information.
  • Support and assist applicants and students in navigating the student portal and online student service processes.
  • Provide site assistance with Special Events, Campus Tours for individuals & groups, Student Life activities, Recruitment and faculty support as needed.
  • Interpret complex information, make evaluative determinations and recommendations regarding services, programs, and procedures to students, colleagues, and the public.
  • Conduct student transactions regarding financial services.
  • Assist applicants and students in the resolution of issues, concerns and problems.
  • Participate in/on a variety of University committees, workshops, meetings, training sessions, task forces, and conferences.
  • Participate and/or facilitate internal and external events to promote University sites and programs.
  • Understand emergency procedures and assist University Safety and other departments in the proper implementation of emergency protocol as necessary.
  • Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Site Manager and/or Senior Site Director.
Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday ? Friday, between 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The incumbent must be flexible with their hours and schedule to meet the needs of the department and/or the University.
