At Temecula Recovery Center, we are looking for a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Intake Coordinator to join our team. Temecula Recovery Center is a Generations Healthcare company. Position Overview The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Intake Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking information, support, and access to substance use disorder treatment services within Generations Recovery Centers. This role is responsible for responding to incoming inquiries, gathering preliminary client information, conducting intake screenings, and providing accurate information regarding available treatment programs and levels of care. The SUD Intake Coordinator engages callers in a professional, respectful, recognizing that many individuals contacting the center may be experiencing crisis or seeking treatment for the first time. This position works closely with admissions, clinical, and administrative teams to coordinate referrals, verify insurance eligibility, and support timely admissions when appropriate. The role plays an important part in facilitating access to care while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements, and Generations Healthcare policies and procedures. Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking substance use disorder treatment services.
- Respond to inbound calls, electronic inquiries, and referral requests regarding treatment programs, admissions processes, and available services.
- Provide accurate information regarding treatment options, levels of care, program eligibility, and recovery resources.
- Conduct initial intake screenings and gather demographic, clinical, insurance, and referral information as appropriate.
- Assist in verifying insurance coverage and benefits or coordinate insurance verification with admissions personnel.
- Coordinate referrals and warm handoffs to admissions personnel, clinical teams, or external partners when appropriate.
- Support the admissions process by facilitating timely communication between prospective clients, referral sources, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all caller interactions, inquiries, and referral outcomes within designated electronic intake or record systems.
- Track and support admissions inquiries to help ensure timely follow-up and support admissions conversion when appropriate.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a call center, healthcare, behavioral health, or admissions coordination environment preferred.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders or behavioral health needs preferred.
- Experience with healthcare admissions, referral coordination, or insurance verification preferred.
- Training or familiarity with motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, or crisis communication preferred.
- Bilingual or multilingual language skills preferred.
