Job Description:

This position manages IT projects of varying complexity within the Digital Next space, ensuring they are executed efficiently and in alignment with departmental goals. A Project Manager in this role is a key driver of project success, focusing on planning, execution, and team coordination. They operate within an Agile framework to facilitate the delivery of value, ensure clear communication among stakeholders, and support the project team in achieving its objectives.

  • Manages the planning, scheduling, and tracking of project deliverables, goals, and milestones to ensure timely completion.
  • Works with stakeholders to define project scope and manages the change control process with oversight from senior leadership.
  • Applies Agile methodologies to manage the project backlog, facilitate sprint ceremonies, and guide iterative development cycles.
  • Executes the project communication plan, ensuring stakeholders are consistently informed of progress, risks, and milestones.
  • Facilitates project meetings, workshops, and retrospectives to drive alignment and capture lessons learned.
  • Contributes to the development of the project budget and actively tracks project financials, including actuals, forecasts, and variances.
  • Identifies, documents, and monitors project risks and dependencies, working with teams to develop and implement mitigation and contingency planning
  • Contributes to continuous improvement efforts within the PMO by analyzing project results and sharing key learnings.
  • Takes ownership of project outcomes from initiation to closure, holding themselves accountable for both successes and failures.
  • Leads, plans, schedules, tracks, and manages all project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
  • Analyzes results, identifying lessons learned and applying them to drive continuous improvement in future projects.
Qualifications:

Requited:

Work Location: Denver, CO preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area required or a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience may be substituted.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ IT experience required, including a minimum of five (3) years’ experience managing IT projects.
  • Experience speaking to and working on technical projects. 
  • Demonstrated experience translating business strategies into actionable project plans.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with projects involving cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in resource management and change management techniques.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in MS Project; intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred:

  • Completion of another recognized project management certification.
  • Change management or Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • Experience with project portfolio management (PPM) tools (e.g., Targetprocess, Clarity, Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Project Online).
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with Continuous Discovery and Delivery frameworks.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, etc.).

  • Participation in both internal meetings and external meetings via video calls, as necessary. 
  • Ability to go into corporate or client offices to work onsite, as necessary. 
  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer, as necessary. 
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead, as necessary. 
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment, as necessary. 
  • Vision abilities including close vision, toleration of fluorescent lighting, and adjusting focus, as necessary. 
  • For positions that require business travel and/or event attendance, ability to lift 25 lbs, as necessary. 
  • For positions that require business travel and/or event attendance, a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required, as driving is an essential job function.
