Job title: SPECIAL EDUCATION PARA - SUPPORT CENTER Company: Puyallup School District Job description: Hours: 6.25 Hours, Monday - Friday (Includes Collaboration Hour and Start up or Bus Time) Para Prep: 1 Hour Calendar: 190-Day Budget Code: Notes: Flexibility to ride the bus. May work primarily with one student. SUPPORT CENTER = provides services in academic instruction to students with a variety of disabilities ranging from severe to profound. In addition to instruction in academic subject areas, the program also offers modified curriculum instruction which may include a combination of the following: functional academics, daily living skills, prevocational/vocational skills, behavior skills and social skills. • Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent

In addition, a paraeducator must meet one of the following: * Have received a qualifying score on the Education Testing Service (ETS) paraeducator assessment

• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
• Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council
