- Position: Asbury Park Boys & Girls Club - School Year ?23- ?24
- Certified Teacher -Tutor ($40 hourly) Noncertified Tutor ($30 hourly)
- Seeking 4 ELA tutors in grades K - 5; ELA only
- Program runs - October 4, 2023 - May 30, 2024
- Wednesdays & Thursdays from 3-5 p.m.
- Paid training via Zoom 4 pm - 7:30 pm 9/5, 9/6, 9/7, & 9/8 (If you are hired after this date, recordings will be provided)
- Engage with scholars in grades K-8 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills.
- Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided.
- Use data to drive instruction.
- Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning- experiences for scholars.
- Participate in coaching from an instructional coach.
- Use an asset-based approach in working with scholars.
- Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff.
- Complete all training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity.
- Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS) to receive the $40 hourly pay rate.
- New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
- Experience with Google Suite functions including Google Sheets and Forms.
- Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness.
- Reliable transportation to travel to sites.
- Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy.
- Background Clearance- The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
- Local COVID requirements of the LEA site including any mask rules that must be followed while indoors, if applicable.
