ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTING ANALYST

The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking an Associate Accounting Analyst to support their Accounting Services Branch. This role involves maintaining cooperative working relationships within the department and performing various accounting tasks related to general ledger and reconciliation.

Skills

  • Completion of educational courses as specified in the Class Specification
  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
  • If meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, include unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification
  • Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
  • Verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency for foreign degrees/transcripts
  • Submission to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting
  • Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter
  • Submission of a current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678
  • Statement of Qualifications is required and must be submitted with your Examination/Employment Application
  • General ledger and reconciliation experience in accounting from different sources
  • Utilize strong Excel and analytical skills when conducting research
  • Ability to identify problems and resolve problems independently under minimal supervision
  • Experience working with various state accounting systems, such as SAP or FI$CAL
  • Experience or knowledge of fund reconciliations and YE financial statements
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment and meet important deadlines
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Demonstrates professional demeanor, dependability and positive attitudes
  • Work well both individually and as a team member
