The Tutor participates in staff development opportunities, contributes to center projects, and helps promote the center within the CLC community. Required Qualification(s) * Bachelor's degree or higher OR an Associate's degree with four (4) semesters experience as a Tutor II and the recommendation of the Tutoring Center Coordinator(s).

• Proficiency in subject(s) to be tutored.
• Ability to tutor in multiple modalities (face-to-face and online).
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Ability to assess student learning needs and determine appropriate learning strategies.

Desired Qualification(s) * Previous Tutoring Center experience.

• Proficient in MS Office.
• Willingness to work at multiple campus locations (Lakeshore, Southlake, Grayslake).
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Summary of Essential Functions * Tutor CLC students in selected arts and humanities disciplines including writing and world languages and/or other subjects as needed.

• Tutor in multiple modalities (face to face and online).
• Recommend appropriate learning strategies in basic skills.
• Present class orientations describing center services.
• Demonstrate software skills as needed.
• Lead study groups as needed.
• Refer students to support services when appropriate.
• Document tutoring sessions and complete other required reporting.
• Participate in staff development opportunities and in the tutor evaluation process.
• Participate in center projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
