Responsibilities
As a Medical Records Transcriptionist and Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
- Transcribing radiology reports from dictated recordings and canned reports, including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, image-guided procedures, and other imaging modalities
- Updating breast density, follow-up dates, surgical follow-ups, and physical charts for each patient
- Reviewing and editing drafts for clarity, accuracy, and grammar, adhering to departmental and industry standards
- Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and ensure completeness of reports
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all legal and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records
- Prioritizing and managing workload effectively to meet transcription deadlines and turnaround times
- Staying updated with medical terminology, MQSA, and advancements in radiology to enhance transcription accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, specifically in radiology, with a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in transcribing medical dictation using transcription software and word processing tools
- Excellent typing skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transcribing complex medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical ethics, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare documentation
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Certification or diploma in medical transcription or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with EHR systems is necessary
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and understand the importance of accuracy when creating and delivering files to the referring physician and the patient
