- The Multilingual Program Department offers Adult ESL classes for GISD parents.
- Classes will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings from August to March.
- Certified teacher with three (3) or more years of teaching experience
- Bilingual certification or ESL Endorsement
- Prior experience teaching English to speakers of other languages
- Work hours will be Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:15 p.m. ? 8:00 p.m.
- ESC teachers will attend the ESC Graduation, which MAY be held on the weekend
- Knowledge of principles for adult learning
- Knowledge of instructional best practices for online learning
- Flexible teaching style, open-minded, patient, and encouraging instructor
- Knowledge of effective teaching and sheltered instruction strategies
- Ability to instruct adults in an environment that promotes student engagement
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with others in a virtual or face-to-face environment
- Ability to develop and supplement content-specific materials
- Capable of conducting group and individual lessons providing differentiated
- instruction as needed (virtually or face-to-face)
- Strong technological skills
- Exemplary attendance record (absences/tardiness)
