Senior Procurement Specialist
Wood is currently looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to support procurement activities across our projects

- Responsible for the execution of specific aspects of procurement management including expediting, procurement, subcontracts, negotiation and reporting of major procurement packages/subcontracts.
- Responsible for the supervision and guidance of directly reporting supply procurement specialists/associates.
- Clear understanding of the client’s head contract requirements including Wood responsibilities and knowledge of how these are integrated into project procurement strategies, plans, procedures and terms and conditions.
- Has working knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, interfaces with Wood legal/commercial experts and can under guidance initiate/discuss adaptations in order to reach a robust commercial agreement.
- Regularly reports progress of all procurement activities for which they are responsible.
- Ensures direct reports regularly update reports/systems with required information to allow accurate reporting and escalates any critical issues and risks to project management.
- Accountable for the successful delivery of all procurement activities that they are responsible for.
- Responsible for the end-to-end sourcing process (Strategy through Close Out) for the major procurement/subcontract packages assigned to them.
- Provides guidance, direction and support to the reporting personnel in delivery of their specific responsibilities.
- Provides guidance, direction and support to all relevant stakeholders on both Woods and the suppliers specific contractual obligations and responsibilities.
- Ensures all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
- Assisting with development of processes and procedures, and communication to relevant personnel.
- Update the project / procurement status report (PSR) in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead times, notifying any delays to the procurement lead.
- Attend regular PSR meetings with client, engineering and/or project management personnel to ensure dates for pre-order deliverables within their portfolio are being maintained
Responsibilities
- Carry out Supplier performance reviews and ongoing management ensuring corrective actions are taken where required.
- Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and procedures are complied with and all actions are fully auditable.
- Ensures that direct reports have a clear understanding of their role, procurement processes and procedures and provides guidance, direction and support.
- Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety leadership at all times.
- Understands and lives Woods vision, values and behaviours.
- Understands and works to the Wood Financial Management Framework
- Assist in applying robust performance management and development plans for direct reports
- Capture all internal and external in year savings targets as per business plan.
- Assist in the implementation of global/regional/country initiatives as per business plans.
Qualifications
- Qualifications:
- Educated to ISCED Level 6 (Bachelor Degree or Equivalent), CIPS qualified or industry equivalent.
- Record of skills training appropriate for job specific role.
- Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Minimum of 7 years SC experience demonstrating results.
- Detailed knowledge of Suppliers, commercial Evaluations, Negotiations and Terms and Conditions of Purchase/Contract.
