Job Summary

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and Engineering design and consulting oversight for complex assignments, including conditions assessments, project site visits, report preparation, hydraulic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, cost estimating.
• Preparation of design and construction documents for wastewater and water facilities, climate resiliency projects, and conveyance/treatment projects.
• Review of engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work prepared by others, as part of a program management role.
• Active leadership in assignments as a member of a team, including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff. 
• Support management of grant writing and funding procurement for infrastructure and community projects.
• Actively engage in business development and growth opportunities for new clients and projects/programs under the Water Sector, Infrastructure Equity Practice, and Water Advisory Practice.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

• Education: minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
• Experience: minimum 5+ years’ experience in stormwater design/engineering – performing studies, design, and construction services for municipal clients.
• Demonstrated experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
• Certifications, Licenses: Professional Engineering (PE) licensure, or working towards licensure, preferred. VA DEQ Plan Reviewer certification required or the ability to obtain one within three months.
