About the Role

As a Dealer Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for steering, developing and growing truck sales performance across your assigned dealer network.

You’ll work closely with franchise partners to:

  • Drive sales volume and profitability
  • Embed best-in-class sales behaviours and standards
  • Deliver strategic growth plans aligned to national objectives

This is a high-impact, field-based role where relationship management, commercial thinking and performance leadership are key.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Lead and deliver dealer sales strategies to achieve truck sales targets
  • Drive performance across vehicle sales, finance penetration (DTFS), and downstream revenue (CSP)
  • Ensure sustainable growth aligned to national fleet strategy

Performance Management

  • Monitor and manage dealer performance against franchise standards
  • Identify gaps and implement robust action plans
  • Escalate and influence at senior level where required

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with Dealer Principals, Sales Leaders and Executives
  • Collaborate internally across sales, marketing, finance and planning
  • Provide insight, challenge and strategic direction

Sales Excellence

  • Coach and influence dealer teams on:
    • Sales techniques
    • Customer engagement
    • Product and pricing strategies
    • Drive a customer-centric, high-performance sales culture

Financial Responsibility

  • Manage a significant discount budget to support sales objectives
  • Ensure effective budget control through regular performance tracking
  • Work closely with finance and controlling teams

Self-Management

  • Operate autonomously across a large geographical area
  • Balance time between dealer visits and home-based administration
  • Maintain regular on-site presence with dealer partners

Qualifications

About You

You’ll bring a strong mix of commercial acumen, relationship skills and drive:

Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in commercial vehicle, equipment or related sales
  • Experience in wholesale, retail or financial services environments
  • Leadership or influencing experience preferred

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret data and translate into action
  • Commercially astute with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing ability
  • Passion for customer excellence and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel extensively
