The Role at a Glance
We're excited to bring on a Senior Associate, Actuary - Life Inforce Management. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the review of the performance for all inforce blocks of Lincoln's Life Solutions business. In addition, the individual will support modeling and analysis of inforce blocks of the individual life insurance business by contributing to a long-term framework for assessing emerging product profitability drivers. The individual will contribute to a team that contemplates complex factors such as regulation, legal considerations, actuarial and financial implications, external messaging implications, and operational capabilities.
What you'll be doing
- Identify, analyze, and implement inforce projects such as non-guaranteed elements analysis and management to support the business objectives.
- Develop and analyze complex actuarial models/spreadsheets needed for managing the inforce business, including model validation and enhancement
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance the quality of life inforce management.
- Provide subject matter expertise to Legal, Compliance and Claims on technical policy information and/or detailed policy calculations.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on the design and implementation of inforce management projects.
- Monitor developments in actuarial techniques, research into laws and regulations applicable to company operations or actuarial science, ensuring Lincoln's life inforce management is in compliance.
- 5-7 years of experience in actuarial science that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
- FSA designation or ASA designation with additional years of actuarial experience.
- Ability to create, analyze, and audit actuarial and financial models. Sound understanding and knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Internal Revenue (IRS) regulations.
- Understanding of life insurance product mechanics, operations, administration, and distribution.
- Understanding of state life insurance regulations and life insurance related compliance issues.
- Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience. Education concentration in mathematics, actuarial science, business or science is preferred.
- Understanding of Whole Life product design and mechanics, including dividend management
- MG-ALFA experience preferred
