WordPress Developer Needed – Build Gutenberg Framework for Conversion-Focused Service Website
I am taking over digital marketing for a local HVAC and fireplace company in the Midwest at the end of April 2026. The current agency will provide a flat-file export of the existing website, and I need a WordPress developer to help rebuild the site framework using the native Gutenberg block editor (not Elementor or other page builders). The goal is to create a fast, conversion-focused WordPress framework that allows me to easily build and manage landing pages for Google Ads and Local Service Ads (LSA) campaigns. I will be responsible for building many of the service pages and landing pages myself once the framework is complete, so the site must be simple, flexible, and easy to manage without developer assistance. - Rebuild the current website structure using WordPress + Gutenberg blocks
- Create a high-performance site optimized for conversions (calls and form submissions)
- Build reusable block patterns and templates so additional pages can be created quickly
- Ensure the site structure supports Google Ads landing pages and local SEO
The focus is lead generation for a home service company, not just visual design. Flat File Export The existing website will be provided as a flat-file export on March 23, 2026. Your role will be to recreate the site framework in WordPress and build the reusable components that allow additional pages to be created quickly. Technical Requirements The website must be built using:
- WordPress with the native Gutenberg block editor
- No Elementor, Divi, or other page builders
- Mobile-first responsive design
- Optimized for Core Web Vitals and fast page load times
- Clean heading structure and semantic markup for SEO
- Easy editing for a non-developer
Hosting and domain management will be handled separately. The developer’s responsibility is building the WordPress site framework and templates. Required Framework Components Please build 5–7 reusable Gutenberg block patterns, such as:
- Hero section with call-to-action
- Service overview section
- Trust / credentials section
- Customer testimonial / review section
- Service area section
- Call-to-action banner
- Contact or estimate form section
These blocks should allow me to quickly assemble new service pages and landing pages. Page Templates Needed Please create templates for:
- Homepage
- Service pages
- Google Ads landing pages
- Basic content pages
The service page template should support sections such as: 1.Hero with call-to-action 2. Problem / symptoms section 3. Service explanation 4. Why choose us 5. Reviews / social proof 6. Service areas 7. Call-to-action Conversion-Focused Requirements Since this site will support Google Ads and Local Service Ads, it must include:
- Prominent phone number in the header
- Mobile tap-to-call functionality
- Sticky mobile call button
- Strong above-the-fold call-to-action
- Simple navigation optimized for lead generation
Timeline The flat-file website export will be available March 23, 2026. Please include in your proposal:

- Your estimate of total hours required
- A fixed-price estimate if possible
The goal is to complete the core framework and templates within approximately 1–2 weeks so additional landing pages can be built for advertising campaigns. Ideal Experience Looking for someone experienced with:
