Job Title: Lab Tech III Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Lab Tech III who will support global laboratories with projects related to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), focusing on Thermo SampleManager or GLIMS. The role involves interpreting laboratory test methods to generate results and compiling custom calculation fields within LIMS. Additionally, there is a secondary focus on Chromatographic Data Systems (CDS), such as Empower or Chromeleon.

Responsibilities

  • Support global laboratories with ongoing projects related to LIMS, particularly Thermo SampleManager.
  • Interpret laboratory test methods for calculations and formulas needed to generate results.
  • Compile custom calculation fields in LIMS (SampleManager) to calculate laboratory results in the system.
  • Focus on Empower Chromatography Data System calculations experience in development and validation.
  • Draft documents that serve as guidelines for laboratory calculations and reporting results.
  • Follow calculation validation processes related to laboratory quality applications.
  • Report to the Quality Systems support team. Essential Skills

  • Laboratory analyst experience with chromatography, preferably SampleManager LIMS.
  • Lab administration and support of quality systems used by the laboratory.
  • Understanding of CDS such as Empower or Chromeleon.
  • Scientific industry bg with experience following analytical test methods.
  • Experience with multi-site or multi-stakeholder project work supporting laboratory quality systems.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in biochemistry or molecular cell biology with at least three years of independent hands-on laboratory experience.
  • Trained and experienced in using aseptic techniques in a laminar flow biosafety cabinet.
  • Significant cell culture expertise including maintenance, freezing, thawing, and passaging.
  • Proficiency in biochemical assays such as Western blot, WES, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry.
  • Skilled in molecular biology techniques such as RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, and RT-qPCR.

Work Environment

The work environment includes laboratories equipped with advanced technologies such as LIMS and CDS. Employees will work within a collaborative setting, maintaining high standards of laboratory quality systems. The laboratory setting will require the use of aseptic techniques and adherence to safety protocols, with opportunities to engage in multi-site projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
