Job description: R1 RCM Inc. is seeking an experienced Physician Education & Audit Lead who will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling all coding audit activities and providing education to assigned medical providers to include but not limited to surgeons, physicians, advanced practice providers and behavior health specialists.

In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Audit, educate, and monitor providers for E/M levels, procedures, and diagnosis coding to include CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS.
- Maintain accurate records of the provider audits and make any recommendations for changes in policies and procedures, guidelines, and training programs. Develop and conduct provider training and maintain a positive learning experience.
- Be responsible for reviewing, modifying, and optimizing coding and documentation results for presentation to client providers.
- Notify client leadership of continued negative coding and documentation results for providers that fall below the standards outlined in the Provider Education Audit Policy.
- Coordinate effective and efficient utilization of human and physical resources such training, counseling, and optimal use of time and equipment.
- Apply Auditor production standards, QA requirements, and compliance with auditing philosophies and ensure guidelines are met.
- Meet regularly to discuss project status with Physician Education Manager.
- Maintain effective and consistent cooperation and communication with team and Company leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality of all Medical Coding related material.
- Maintain acceptable levels of attendance and punctuality as specified in company and departmental policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Enforce compliance with R1 policies.

- Minimum of four years of experience in production coding within professional services such as emergency room, family medicine, and other complex specialties including but not limited to surgery, pediatrics.
- AAPC or AHIMA coding credential CPC, CCS-P (RHIA or RHIT may be considered)
- Ability to interact with other employees through effective communication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to deliver and teach complex coding concepts to small and large groups of coders and well as individuals.
