The School of Leadership and Human Resource Development at Louisiana State University announces an opening for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position. This announcement seeks to identify candidates whose research and grant activity in leadership and human resource development (HRD) relate to one or more of Louisiana State Universitys Presidential Priorities in agriculture, healthcare, coast, defense, and energy ( ). Applicants may demonstrate the connection between their research and these priorities in a variety of ways. A few examples of topical areas include but are not limited to:
- The role of HRD and community engagement in supporting coastal preservation
- Leadership development in healthcare, IT, and emerging economy workforces
- Adult education and career transition of veterans and/or active military
- Understanding the role of food security and adequacy on employee performance and wellbeing
- Exploring sustainability attitudes and behaviors in relation to corporate conservation initiatives and building occupancy behaviors in the workforce
- PhD or EdD in Human Resource Development, I/O Psychology, Adult Education, or closely related field.
- Demonstrated record of and potential for excellence in research.
- Assistant Professor: ABD candidates are acceptable.
- Associate Professor: Tenure-track candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience at the Assistant Professor rank and evidence of a scholarly record with the potential to secure externally funded research. To be hired with tenure, candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience at the Associate Professor rank and evidence of scholarly publications and an external funding record.
- Academic research experience (e.g., publications and/or grants) related to the areas of agriculture, healthcare, coast, defense or energy.
- Experience in teaching, advising, research and scholarly publication.
- 50% - Engage in academic research and publishing in HRD, leadership, or I/O Psychology.
- 40% - Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in online and/or classroom settings. Normal teaching load is two courses per semester (i.e., four courses per academic year). Advise graduate students.
- 10% - Undertake assignments normally associated with teaching, scholarship, and college/university service.
