SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the direction of the Pasadena LEARNs Site Coordinator, Principal, and Program Director, the Pasadena LEARNs Youth Leader works with groups of approximately 20 students, providing assistance, academic support and enrichment classes.
The Youth Leader is an unclassified position. Youth Leader jobs are not subject to the Merit System guidelines. Youth Leaders are not entitled to medical benefits or vacation pay. Youth Leaders are not assigned to a bargaining unit and are considered at-will employees.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or higher. All foreign degrees must be accompanied with certified equivalency from an agency accredited by the United States Department of Education.
- Commit to a full-year program with excellent attendance
- Create engaging academic and enrichment activities and lessons
- Facilitate activities and transitions
- Serve as a positive adult role model for children by displaying appropriate dress, speech, work ethic and attitude
- Record and maintain daily attendance and other documentation as required
- Ensure that classrooms and program space are clean, organized and safe
- Use positive behavior and classroom management techniques with children
- Communicate and work effectively with students, staff, parents, school personnel, and community partners
- Attend and actively participate in all required staff development workshops, meetings and trainings
- Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment and physical activity
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
