Job title: Math Coach (Middle School Teaching Experience Preferred) Company: Berwyn South School District 100 Job description: 2. Must have a strong knowledge base in mathematical content and instructional best practices 3. Successful teaching experience with diverse learners preferred 4. EL Certification preferred Job Goal: To provide instructional coaching to teachers in planning and instruction in mathematics. Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and/or Instructional Director Performance Responsibilities: * Apply a deep understanding of math standards, content, instruction and best practice in math to support teachers in the planning and responsive instruction of students with varied abilities.
  • Facilitate reflection conversations with individual teachers and grade level teams to move teaching practices forward.
  • Model best instructional practices through actual classroom demonstrations.
  • Support teachers in using data to inform instruction.
  • Create resources that support innovative best practices and leadership in education through published lessons, courses and books.
  • Support teachers in integrating purposeful instructional technology in math lessons.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, other school staff and parents to strengthen all aspects of the instructional coaching program.
  • Collaborate with the district math coordinator to develop strategic plans and goals for math instruction in the district.
  • Support the implementation of the district wide, vertically aligned scope and sequence.
  • Support practices of a strength-based approach and growth mindset to support a positive culture and climate in the district.
  • Participate in professional development, research, reading, and inquiry sessions to stay abreast of developments in best classroom practices, technology, and assessment.
  • Provide professional development to teachers and staff.
  • Develop and facilitate professional development at a building and district level that helps deepen understanding of all district adopted Standards.
  • Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent or designee and in accordance with terms stipulated in the current contract.
