Experienced Senior Data Analyst – Healthcare and Clinical Research Data Management

Job Summary

As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll collaborate with our IT and Research teams to design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure that enables report automation for our Medical Services Quality Improvement program. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team of data scientists, business intelligence engineers, system administrators, and data stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and drive business growth. Your expertise in data management, analysis, and visualization will be instrumental in shaping our data-driven strategy and informing business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise the delivery of Walgreens Health data and insights projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate results.

• Develop and maintain long-term and ad-hoc data ETL and data warehousing processes to meet Walgreens Health reporting and analysis requirements.
• Design, develop, and deploy layered data warehouses and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects.
• Establish data governance and pre-processing standards for populating consistent and accurate data models attached to report-specific working tables for both business intelligence and pre-defined reporting solutions.
• Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal Walgreens production system sources and external records.
• Perform data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets (e.g., patient segmentation, clinical cases, pharmacy claims, HEDIS ECDS records).
• Develop internal tools for automation of all development-related activities (data handling, QA, data approval, etc.).

Essential Capabilities

* Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts.

• Experience designing and deploying reasonably isolated data environments using ETL/ELT services, including but not limited to, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Experience providing technical leadership and presenting device rationalist semantic data layer upgrades connected with BI technology platforms like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners.
• At least 2 years of experience contributing to business decisions in the workplace.
• No less than 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team management.
• Ability to travel up to/no less than 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Capabilities

* Knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts.

• Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality metrics.
• Certification in data science, business intelligence, or a related field.
