Business Analyst - III

Job Brief: We are looking for a professional with experience in both information technology and business administration. The Business Analyst works closely with our IT Project Managers to understand business and client requirements and implement processes or execute tasks to meet those needs. The successful applicant will be responsible for contributing to our overall project objectives and specific team deliverables. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and highly innovative. He or she will also be responsible for translating business needs to IT solutions, and vice versa, with current programs, projects and initiatives in mind. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project implementations, working closely with Project Managers, and internal teams to document requirements and ensure their complete execution
  • Evaluate test data, ensuring items received from clients are valid and meet established standards, also communicating receipt and location both internally and externally
  • Generate samples, mock-ups, and other required documentation to facilitate project implementation
  • Document customer requirements, preferences, configurations and settings and create corresponding tickets in Jira
  • Assist in defining the scope of projects, taking accountability for the documentation and/or review of requirements
  • Execute on Customer deliverables, including job configuration/setup and site provisioning
  • Participate in the research of issues, test findings, communicate concerns and identify possible solutions or root causes
  • Work with team to ensure requirements are detailed enough to put together a comprehensive test plan.
  • Test all implementations to ensure complete and accurate programming deliveries
  • Evaluate, test and recommend new opportunities for enhancing our software, hardware and IT processes
  • Respond to the challenges of a frequently changing industry, operating with a sense of urgency to problem solve project challenges, production issues etc., with a focus on delivering holistic solutions that strategically align to the organization’s business objectives
  • Adapt to a constantly evolving landscape of technologies, relying on a technical skillset to execute on a variety of tasks
  • Accountable to operate within project management best practices and procedures as defined by company
  • Assume responsibility for project tasks and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion
  • Communicate regularly with clients and colleagues, facilitating conversation that fuels collaboration and drives greater understanding of business needs and corresponding technical solutions
  • Work with stakeholders to understand services or products provided
  • Ensure Project Managers receive assistance in a helpful, efficient manner, effectively managing time between multiple internal customers.
  • Specify inputs and format outputs to meet users’ needs
  • Develop specifications diagrams and flowcharts for programmers to follow
  • Escalates policy issues to IT Project Manager for referral to appropriate policy making bodies
  • Communicate throughout all levels of the organization to provide recommendations to the business, continuously identifying opportunities to optimize process or leverage innovative solutions for day-to-day business issues
  • Assist Project Managers in creating effective business plans to deliver product and projects.
  • Facilitates client communications focused on gathering and documenting requirements and corresponding technical direction
  • Assist in the reduction of elapsed time from contract or SOW execution to development readiness
  • Use a variety of data analysis and organizational tools to uncover insights
  • Design cost-effective and efficient processes that satisfy and address the business problems identified.
  • Document process flows and data flows for business processes
  • Document process instructions, ensure training plans are in place, and assist with the adherence of those processes
  • Identify areas for process improvements (better alignment with business requirements, process re-engineering, increased automation, simplification, productivity improvements, more scalable)
  • Prioritize and lead process improvement projects
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of process improvements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Beginner to Moderate experience in computer programming
  • SQL and XML/XSLT experience desired
  • 5+ years experience as a Business Systems Analyst
  • Experience in diagramming, data mining, data analysis, wireframing, management of requirements, and presentation of results desired.
  • Financial Services Industry experience a plus
  • Experience with Agile methodology, including Scrum and/or Kanban a plus
  • Experience with Jira and/or Asana a plus
  • Lean experience desired
