Key Responsibilities – Your Day‑to‑Day Impact

  • Load, unload, and transport: Safely lift, load, unload, and convey baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft using approved ground‑handling equipment.
  • Aircraft guidance: Direct incoming and departing aircraft to and from gate positions, ensuring timely connections and minimizing ground‑time delays.
  • Protect assets: Guard cargo, baggage, and mail against damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions, applying protective measures as required.
  • Operate equipment: Skillfully drive and operate tugs, belt loaders, tow tractors, and other ground‑support vehicles in high‑traffic environments while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Scanning and routing: Use baggage scanners and computer systems to verify tags, confirm destinations, and route items accurately to their final points.
  • Safety stewardship: Continuously practice and promote safety‑conscious behaviors, wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and report any hazards or incidents promptly.
  • Team collaboration: Communicate clearly with pilots, flight‑deck crew, dispatchers, and fellow ramp personnel to synchronize operations and resolve issues.
  • Shift flexibility: Adapt to schedules driven by operational demand, ranging from early‑morning to overnight shifts, and work 20–40 hours per week based on seniority and airport needs.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Age & work authorization: Minimum 18 years of age and legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Driver’s license: Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Language proficiency: Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Physical ability: Ability to pass arenaflex’s Physical Ability Test (PAT), which assesses lifting capacity (up to 70 lbs), stamina, and flexibility; preparation video available on the arenaflex intranet.
  • PPE compliance: Willingness to wear required safety gear—including hearing protection, safety‑toe footwear, bump caps or hard hats, and high‑visibility apparel—or approved accommodations.
  • Security clearances: Ability to obtain and maintain airport‑specific credentials such as a SIDA badge and Customs seal.
