The Role: As a Project Manager, you will lead and deliver complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement effective solutions to produce a lasting impact for clients. You will be expected to drive the direction of the engagement and effectively manage the team and long-term relationships with clients to deliver high performance. Beyond client project work, the Project Manager will contribute to the development of new clients and markets, delivery of presentations to executives, and creation of thought leadership. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication, presentation and client management skills to maintain positive client relations and high client satisfaction levels. The candidate must be a self-starter, who is able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and must be driven to produce improvement initiatives both internally and with clients. Responsibilities:

  • Managing the execution of complex consulting engagements to ensure the project and deliverables meet or exceed the client’s requirements and expectations and deliver superior value to clients. This entails:
  • Structuring the project activities and identifying resource requirements, in line with the scope and objectives of the engagement.
  • Leading and directing teams and overseeing the overall quality of the project delivery.
  • Engaging and managing key stakeholders at Management and Senior Executive Level to ensure client’s expectations are fully met.
  • Proactively identifying issues and risks, examining alternatives, and pursuing the optimal course of actions to minimize adverse impact and maximize project success.
  • Managing and enhancing relationships with clients with the objective of positioning the company as a trusted partner and identifying and pursuing additional business opportunities.
  • Working with a Senior Manager/Principal / Director in developing new business leads and opportunities to grow the business.
  • Business Process Owner for Project Management – Standardization of PM Processes, Drive Excellence through Project Reviews
  • Playing an active role in building the firm by:
  • Participating in and contributing to functional and/or industry networks with the aim of developing and sharing best practices.
  • Mentoring / coaching junior colleagues to support their development within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a management consulting firm and/or hands-on experience in the Metals and Mining industry is a must
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry solutions and best practices in operational risk, operational excellence, and sustainability practice lines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills at the Project Manager level, with the ability to effectively drive solution development, and high-quality delivery of key services
  • Proven experience in managing, leading, and developing a team
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, results-focused, and adept at thriving in a fast-paced, rapidly growing consulting environment
  • Intermediate to expert skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, PowerBI, Tableau, and Visio

Working Experience:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in supporting clients on transformational journeys, including strategy development, operational roadmaps, integration into business units and functions, and support in implementation
  • Strong understanding of and familiarity operational performance improvement and operations excellence methodologies would be a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in the Metals and Mining Industry

Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related fields
  • The ideal candidate will have more than 4 years of professional management consulting experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team-working attitude to collaborate within fast-paced, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is a must
