As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a vital role in accurately transcribing radiology reports and managing patient records, ensuring timely and precise documentation to support patient care.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Records Transcriptionist and Data Entry Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Transcribing radiology reports from dictated recordings and canned reports, including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, and other imaging modalities.
  • Updating patient records with breast density, follow-up dates, surgical follow-arenaflex, and physical charts.
  • Reviewing and editing drafts for clarity, accuracy, and grammar, adhering to departmental and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and ensure completeness of reports.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all legal and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records.
  • Prioritizing and managing workload effectively to meet transcription deadlines and turnaround times.
  • Staying updated with medical terminology and advancements in radiology to enhance transcription accuracy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, specifically in radiology, with a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in transcribing medical dictation using transcription software and word processing tools.
  • Excellent typing skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transcribing complex medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of medical ethics, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Certification or diploma in medical transcription or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems is necessary.
