About the Job

As a full stack bookkeeper at arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of cross-functional collaboration, serving as the go-to expert for accounting partners in the data and design spaces. Your days will be filled with assessing data using SQL and Python, conducting in-depth data analysis and research, designing complex dashboards and reports, and contributing to critical accounting research and planning initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders to drive business growth and improvements, create and implement comprehensive accounting data requirements to support the automation of journal entries, and lead functional improvement initiatives to streamline income tasks and reduce the income close cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Design, Product, Finance, Audit, Legal, and other teams on processes, cycles, and projects, and assist with driving key system drives and enhancements

• Create and implement comprehensive accounting data requirements to support the automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, and efficiency in financial cycles
• Lead functional improvement initiatives to further streamline income tasks and reduce the income close cycle
• Screen data quality of journal entries prepared via the Income Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through accounting requirements planning, ad-hoc analyses, new product launches, etc.
• Collaborate with the Product and Design teams to continuously improve our daily Income Reconciliation process and oversee reconciliation investigation with the assistance of the analysis team
• Review meetings and evaluate impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Income Subledger
• Cross-collaborate with collaborating teams on journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Income Subledger
• Perform monthly income accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP income analysis, cost of income analysis, debt claims reconciliations, review journal entries, and audit close package expectations
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and projects as assigned

We're Excited About You Because:

* 3+ years of experience in income accounting, data analysis, and business intelligence

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Income Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS an asset
• Transitional/high-level SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of conditional data, Python an asset
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and remotely
