Lead Product Manager, Data Governance and Compliance (Returnly)

The product team at Returnly works to develop both merchant and shopper experiences, build best-in-class user experiences, and lead integrations with industry-leading e-commerce platforms. As a member of the product team focusing on Data Compliance and Governance, you will play an important role in defining and executing the vision for Returnly’s product used by over 10 million shoppers and processing over $1 billion dollars in returns. What you'll do

• Work in collaboration with Legal, Infosec, Data Privacy, Financial Crimes, SRE, Platform, Engineering and the leadership team to define how Returnly governs data, enforces policies, and audits and reports on compliance
• Ensure our product meets the vision and objectives of Affirm’s overall data policies, governance, and procedures
• Build consensus for and support of new product proposals and ideas, aligning business partner teams on tradeoffs, priorities, timelines, and resourcing.
• Build and manage the Data Governance and Compliance product backlog, balancing requirements from different stakeholders with competing priorities, ensuring prioritization takes into account business risks and regulatory requirements
• Be the primary expert on all things data governance and compliance at Returnly and its implementation at scale
• Ensure that the requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning

What we look for

• 5+ years of product management experience and 3+ years of compliance experience
• Previous experience and understanding of the global regulatory landscape, working on large-scale compliance, privacy, and data protection initiatives such as OFAC, KYC, CCPA, GDPR, SOC2, etc.
• Passion and drive to change finance industry for the better
• Experience working in a highly cross-functional environment where communication with multiple functions (Legal, Product, Engineering, Data) is essential
• The ability to write simple queries and understand complicated data structures - SQL, ETLs, and databases.
• Previous experience working autonomously with multiple teams across product, data, platform engineering, SRE.
• Ability to understand data flow end-to-end, ensuring data in all underlying data sets is compliant
• Track record of delivery in constantly evolving, highly collaborative, cross functional-stakeholder environments with a strong ability to influence multiple partners without direct authority.
• Clear and compelling in written and verbal communication
• Ability to advocate and present to non-technical audiences, including leadership, in an easily digestible manner
