Job Overview

The Data Engineering team at arenaflex is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join their team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for partnering with Decision Science Products, Decision Science, Client, and Technology colleagues on various development and sustainment projects, ad-hoc requests, prototyping, and research initiatives. Your primary focus will be on providing data pipeline and database engineering services to support the Media business. This is a full-time, remote work opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $27 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather data requirements and perform source-to-target mapping
• Design and implement data validation scripts and review data quality
• Develop and monitor ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL (primarily Snowflake and PostgreSQL) and Python
• Design and execute database schema/tables/views and deliver datasets as input to science models and representations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions
• Utilize technologies such as Docker, Gitlab, and Windstream to support data engineering activities

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
• Proven expertise in using Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake)
• Experience with developing in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP practices for code management/development
• Experience creating and maintaining automated job schedulers
• Solid understanding of relational database design and functionality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
• Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, ideally AWS
• Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product like GitLab/GitHub
• Experience using Docker
