About the Role
As a Technical Specialist – Datacom, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our clients' datacom and video distribution systems. You will work closely with our clients to identify and resolve technical issues, ensure the smooth operation of their systems, and provide training and guidance on the use of our products and services. You will also be responsible for collaborating with our internal teams to develop and implement new solutions and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and maintenance for datacom and video distribution systems
- Collaborate with clients to identify and resolve technical issues
- Ensure the smooth operation of clients' systems and provide training and guidance on the use of our products and services
- Work closely with internal teams to develop and implement new solutions and services
- Conduct site visits to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure timely delivery of products and services
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical issues
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, video technology, data systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in the datacom and video distribution industry
- Strong understanding of video and audio technologies, including encoding, decoding, and transmission
- Experience with datacom and video distribution systems, including fiber optic networks, IP networks, and satellite communications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, video technology, data systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in the datacom and video distribution industry
- Experience with video distribution systems, including video head-end, RF QAM, and transcoding
- Experience with datacom systems, including fiber optic networks, IP networks, and satellite communications
- Experience with video and audio encoding and decoding technologies
- Experience with network security principles and industry best practices
- Experience with investigation and reporting tools such as Splunk, Zabbix, and Infoblox
