As a Customer Service Representative I at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional service to customers seeking assistance with the Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, you will utilize your excellent communication skills, active listening abilities, and problem-solving expertise to resolve customer issues and provide empathetic support.

Location and Work Environment

As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home or office. Our remote work environment is designed to promote productivity, collaboration, and work-life balance. With a small cubicle environment and climate-controlled office space, you'll have everything you need to succeed in a distraction-free setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative I at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:

  • Participating in high-volume outbound and inbound call campaigns based on assigned call lists
  • Adhering to approved call scripts and compliance guidelines
  • Providing consistent high-quality service to customers
  • Responding to customer questions while ensuring the highest standards of customer service
  • Utilizing software, scripts, and tools appropriately
  • Appropriately documenting all encounters in clear and concise online logs
  • Employing empathetic support to customers
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Good customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional phone voice and etiquette
  • Ability to follow instructions and scripts
  • Skilled in active listening
  • Proficient with computers and good typing skills
  • Strong time management and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of the FAFSA
  • Knowledge of college financial aid and admissions processes

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have four to six months of customer service experience in a call center environment
  • Be proficient in using computers and software applications
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Physical and Mental Demands

This role requires:

  • Occasional movement about when working inside the office
  • Repetitive motion
  • Regularly operating a computer, phone, and general office equipment
  • Regularly handling, feeling, grasping objects, and reaching across a work area
  • Regularly communicating with other employees and on the phone, virtually, or in person with clients
  • Visual acuity to view and enter information into computer and software systems
  • Mental focus to maintain attention and exchange detailed and accurate information through oral and written communication
