Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and licensed customer service representative to join our remote customer response center team. As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will provide timely, accurate, and responsive information and service to policyholders and agents for a division of Personal Lines products, plans, and programs. You will independently solve problems relating to policies within your scope and escalate others as appropriate, identifying, analyzing, and owning customer policy needs to ensure high customer satisfaction, growth, and retention of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service by responding promptly to all inbound customer calls regarding personal lines policies, limited by line.
  • Builds rapport with each customer, listens to their requests and inquiries, and works to retain policyholders who inquire about canceling auto policies through open listening, negotiating, and policy review of customer issues.
  • Uses de-escalation tactics and, when necessary, escalates to the appropriate team, ensuring that all customer interactions are handled professionally and efficiently.
  • Processes policyholder transactions accurately and within established time standards, interpreting policy contracts to insured based on expert knowledge of personal lines auto products.
  • Identifies, understands, and interprets customer needs to implement resolutions and makes recommendations for coverage enhancements, utilizing technical systems effectively and efficiently.
  • Develops and maintains product, procedural, and technical systems knowledge, completing licensing and continuing education requirements as needed.
  • Manages and utilizes time effectively to ensure department meets required service levels for improved customer satisfaction results, performing additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • Active P&C Producers insurance license required, in addition to at least 2 years of actively using the license.
  • Associates degree and 1+ year of insurance experience preferred, with 3-5 years of related customer service experience required.
  • Ability to review, record, and organize written data from a variety of sources with no prescribed format is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Personal Lines producer insurance licenses required upon hiring and training.

  • Prior experience in a call center or customer-facing environment, with a strong understanding of insurance products and services.
  • Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service, with a focus on building strong relationships and resolving complex issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret policy contracts and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
