Job Summary

The Provider Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for receiving and processing provider information from external sources for system updates. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and efficiency in processing incoming requests to optimize claims adjudication. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a medical office setting working in provider credentialing or related position.

Essential Functions

As a Provider Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:

• Receiving and processing provider information from external sources for system updates
• Validating the provided information and applying your knowledge and experience to ensure accuracy
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date provider records in the computer system
• Conducting regular audits of loaded provider records to ensure quality and financial accuracy
• Providing documented feedback when necessary
• Supporting system/health plan integration efforts
• Training existing staff and new hires on system-related tasks
• Assisting in system-related testing activities

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Previous experience in a medical office setting working in provider credentialing or related position
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Adherence to Managed Care Organization's policies and confidentiality requirements
• Reliable attendance based on the agreed-upon schedule
• Understanding and compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers

Required Education and Experience

To qualify for this role, you must possess the following education and experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• 1+ years of managed care experience and/or medical office experience with coding or credentialing experience
• At least one year of medical office experience
