About the Role

As a member of our Borrower Success Team at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in helping student loan borrowers navigate our tools and enroll in federal forgiveness and repayment programs. With comprehensive training and hands-on experience, you will become an expert in the student loan landscape, serving as the first point of contact for our users. This remote, full-time, contractor role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team for up to 5 months, with the possibility of extension or permanent hiring in NYC based on performance and company needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding arenaflex's product offerings and how they address borrowers' needs, ensuring a deep knowledge of our services and their benefits.
  • Engaging with borrowers via email and live chat, providing exceptional customer support and resolving queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Reviewing and submitting applications for federal loan programs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all submissions.
  • Proactively suggesting and implementing ideas and automations that can help scale the team, contributing to process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
  • Bringing user feedback to life with the product, design, and engineering teams to create new features and offerings, ensuring that our services meet the evolving needs of our users.
  • Collaborating with the Borrower Success Team to achieve team and company growth goals in line with our social mission, working towards a common objective of empowering student loan borrowers.

Recommended Experience and Qualifications

We are seeking teammates with at least one year of relevant work experience, preferably in start-ups, finance (including financial aid or fintech), government programs, or customer support. A passion for applying talents in a fast-paced startup environment to tackle a major social issue is essential. During the interview process, we will be evaluating key qualities in your experience and potential, including:

  • Detail-oriented: The ability to understand and communicate complex program requirements, as well as manage internal systems and processes with precision.
  • Fast learner: Demonstrated experience in quickly mastering new skills and knowledge areas, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities are also essential. Proficiency in internal systems and processes, as well as experience with customer support software and tools, would be an asset.
