Job Overview

In this full-time remote role, you will have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home, providing phone support to patients receiving life-supporting specialty drug treatment. As a Pharmacy Administration Representative, you will be responsible for the overall coordination and processing of new and existing drug orders, including verifying and renewing benefits. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with insurance companies, patients, and internal partners to ensure timely and accurate processing of specialty medications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional phone support to patients, addressing their concerns and resolving issues in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Coordinate and process new and existing drug orders, including verifying and renewing benefits
  • Assist patients with interpreting and entering new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy data system
  • Communicate and collect copay amounts, obtain authorizations, and work with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve orders with billing or clinical issues
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless processing of specialty medications and meet financial and clinical expectations

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Active IL Pharmacy Technician License or willingness to apply for an IL Pharmacy Technician License
  • At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, handling complex customer needs via phone
  • At least one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
  • Proficient keyboarding skills, with the ability to type accurately and efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry, with knowledge of benefits, insurance, medications, and medical terminology
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume customer service environment, with a strong track record of resolving complex customer issues
