As a Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative, you will be the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates, providing top-notch support and making a real difference in the lives of others.

About the Role: Medicaid Member Support – Tier 1

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate customer service professional to join our team as a Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative. As a key member of our customer service team, you will provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees, accurately documenting enrollment requests and status changes, and entering application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates
  • Provide clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements
  • Accurately document enrollment requests and status changes
  • Enter application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone
  • Maintain technical and program policy proficiency in the Iowa Medicaid rules/guidelines and other related program policies
  • Provide excellent customer service skills, phone etiquette skills, and problem-solving abilities

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers
  • Ability to problem solve through analysis and ongoing feedback
  • Achieve results through knowledge, empathy, and commitment
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Background check required
  • Must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA

  • Excellent typing and grammar skills
  • Ability to navigate a computer and understand/utilize policy
  • Reliable internet access
  • Ability to adhere to a break and lunch schedule

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $18.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive, based on business need. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
