Job Overview

In this full-time remote position, you will be responsible for gathering, preparing, and entering alphabetic and numeric data from various source documents into our computer system for storage, processing, and data management purposes. With a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST, and opportunities for overtime, this role offers a great balance of stability and flexibility. As a Data Entry Associate at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our medical records and data, and we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and prepare source documents for data entry into our system database, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review data for discrepancies, missing pages or information, and resolve discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
  • Enter both alphabetic and numeric data from source documents into the proper system database, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Review data entered against the original source documents for accuracy and correct any data entry errors or duplications, ensuring the integrity of our medical records and data.
  • Follow data program security practices and procedures at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Routinely secure information by completing database backup daily, ensuring the confidentiality and security of our medical records and data.
  • Perform other varied clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with a minimum of 6 months related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must be able to achieve 8,000 or higher on a 10-key test, preferably above 10,000, demonstrating exceptional typing skills and accuracy.
  • Experience in a medical office preferred, with a strong understanding of medical records, ICD 10 coding, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone, with proficiency in multiple software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Must have a full understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security in all aspects of the role.
  • Must be a qualified typist with a minimum of 40 W.P.M., demonstrating exceptional typing skills and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with medical bills/records, ICD, and CPT codes preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding principles.
  • Previous experience in a data entry role, with a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve discrepancies and errors in a timely and effective manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
