About the Role: Healthcare Patient Customer Service Representative

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Healthcare Patient Customer Service Representative to provide exceptional support to our patients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for addressing patient inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering a positive customer experience. This is a remote position, offering the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, with a standard Monday to Friday schedule and no weekend work required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer patient calls regarding Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and research balances to provide accurate and timely information.
  • Manage patient refunds, ensuring that all refund requests are processed efficiently and effectively.
  • Process patient payments, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements for Success:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in medical billing and collections, with a strong understanding of medical billing and reimbursement for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare.
  • Current knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement principles, including EOBs, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients via phone and in writing.
  • Extensive attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A positive and patient-centric approach, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service to clients, guests, and patients.
  • Self-motivation, a team-oriented mindset, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Essential Qualifications:

In addition to the above requirements, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, clients, and colleagues.
  • A strong understanding of revenue cycle management principles, including billing, coding, and reimbursement.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including electronic health records, billing systems, and customer relationship management software.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates with a degree in a related field, such as healthcare administration or medical billing.
