Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you'll play a critical role in assisting customers via phone, email, and chat, helping them navigate their tax filing process, answering questions about our services, and providing general support. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing courteous and efficient customer support via phone (inbound call) during the busy tax season
  • Answering questions regarding tax filing, products, services, and account information
  • Assisting customers in troubleshooting issues related to their tax filings or software
  • Documenting and tracking customer interactions and issues in our support system
  • Meeting performance targets related to customer satisfaction, response time, and first-call resolution
  • Maintaining a positive and professional attitude even during high-demand periods

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications:

  • Reliability: You must be dependable and consistent, especially during high-demand periods leading up to and after Tax Day.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You'll need to possess strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
  • Comfort with Remote Work: You'll need to be comfortable working independently in a remote work environment.
  • Strong Problem-Solving and Multitasking Abilities: You'll need to be able to stay calm and collected when dealing with customers who may be experiencing stress.
  • Previous Customer Service Experience: While not required, previous customer service experience is a plus.
  • Commitment to Working During Peak Periods: You'll need to be able to commit to working during the tax season peak periods (February through April).

We're looking for independent contractors with the following attributes:

  • Self-Management: You'll need to be able to regularly check knowledge-based resources to stay up-to-date on updates and improve product mastery.
  • Commitment: You'll need to be able to deliver the required number of hours on a daily basis as committed.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You'll need to be able to build a professional relationship with your mentor and peers, and share any observations, best practices, or issues experienced.
