Your Role as a Customer Success Associate

As a member of our Borrower Success Team, you will play a critical role in helping student loan borrowers navigate our tools and enroll in federal forgiveness and repayment programs. With comprehensive training and hands-on experience, you will quickly become an expert in the student loan landscape and serve as the first point of contact for our users. This is a remote, full-time, contractor role for up to 5 months, with the possibility of extension or permanent hiring in NYC based on performance and company needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of arenaflex's product offerings and how they address the complex needs of borrowers
  • Engage with borrowers via email and live chat, providing empathetic and clear support to help them achieve their financial goals
  • Review and submit applications for federal loan programs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proactively suggest and implement ideas and automations that can help scale the team and improve the borrower experience
  • Collaborate with the product, design, and engineering teams to bring user feedback to life and create new features and offerings that meet the evolving needs of our borrowers
  • Work closely with the Borrower Success Team to achieve team and company growth goals, aligning with our social mission to improve the financial health of all borrowers

Recommended Experience and Qualifications

We are seeking talented and passionate individuals with at least one year of relevant work experience. Experience in start-ups, finance (including financial aid or fintech), government programs, or customer support is highly valued. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to demonstrate a strong ability to learn quickly, communicate complex information clearly, and collaborate effectively with your colleagues.

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to understand and communicate complex program requirements and manage internal systems and processes
  • Fast learner, with a proven track record of quickly mastering new skills and knowledge areas
  • Clear communicator, with the ability to field questions from borrowers with empathy, tact, and clarity
  • Excellent teammate, with a strong ability to collaborate with and support your colleagues, and clearly communicate capacity and expectations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with it
  • Knowledge of the student loan landscape, including federal forgiveness and repayment programs
  • Experience with customer support software and tools, including email and live chat platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
