Public Relations Assistant

The Storied Group is a boutique PR firm that specializes in representing top interior designers and luxury lifestyle brands. They are seeking a detail-oriented Public Relations Assistant to support day-to-day PR initiatives, manage client communications, and assist in growing their membership program.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update client press kits, bios, and media materials
  • Assist in all client communications: drafting memos, managing schedules, confirming interviews, and coordinating travel details
  • Oversee all communication and tracking for Library Card, our membership program that helps interior designers land press inclusions in the media. You will work closely with our CEO to execute and grow this program through programming and outreach
  • Research and create media lists, pitch media, and help with award submissions
  • Monitor editorial calendars, trends, and breaking news relevant to client visibility
  • Coordinate interviews and press opportunities between media and clients
  • Track and send press to clients
  • Manage and maintain an updated calendar of key industry events and deadlines
  • Attend client photoshoots, interviews, and events as needed
  • Purchase copies of print magazines when clients are featured (Newsstand duty!)
  • Manage inbound new business inquiries: scheduling meetings and maintaining our tracking system
  • Provide general support to senior publicists as needed—you are the glue that holds everything together for the team

Skills

  • 1 year of experience in PR, communications, or editorial preferred (internships count!)
  • Strong interest in interior design, travel, and culture is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and proactive—you take initiative before being asked
  • Comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and projects with grace
  • Meticulous attention to detail. You can't help but spot mistakes in every Substack, Instagram post and email newsletter!
  • An expert multitasker
  • This is a fast-paced industry that requires being able to pivot quickly and handle the unexpected in a thoughtful, efficient way
  • Social media fluency
  • Mac-savvy; must be proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
  • Car and valid driver's license required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorships not available for this role
  • Have an eye for aesthetics and care how things look
  • Geek out over seeing a really clever brand collab, but secretly think you could have come up with something even better
  • Aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves—whether it's researching the perfect editor to pitch, troubleshooting a Google Sheet, or crafting the perfect follow-up
  • You're happiest behind the scenes, helping others shine
  • Know that no task is too small (yes, even picking up magazines!) and pride yourself on being the ultimate team player
  • Can keep your cool under pressure, read the room, and handle stressful situations with emotional intelligence and grace
  • Want to grow with a small, tight-knit team that laughs often, supports each other fully, and delivers white-glove service to top-tier clients
