Senior Analyst, Environmental and Social Risk

About the position Join our global Environmental and Social Risk team and play a key role in guiding the management of material environmental and social risks. Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility In this role, you will be responsible for advising on environmental and social risks in transactions, developing and implementing group-wide environmental and social risk policies, and contributing to Macquarie's environmental, social, and governance disclosures. Your role will include supporting reviews, conducting technical analysis, and monitoring transactions and clients while collaborating with business groups on new products under the environmental and social risk policy. Expect to also implement policies, systems, and projects, prepare program materials, presentations, and training, and provide communications on environmental and social topics. Additionally, you will support the team on key issues such as climate, environmental and human rights risks, and monitor sector trends like biodiversity to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Law, or Public Policy. Strong analytical skills for both quantitative and qualitative assessments. Excellent organizational and concise business writing skills, with effective communication across diverse stakeholders. Business-level proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus. Responsibilities

  • Advising on environmental and social risks in transactions

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in environmental and social risk, ESG, or sustainability, ideally in finance, professional services, or large corporates
  • Relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Law, or Public Policy
  • Strong analytical skills for both quantitative and qualitative assessments
  • Excellent organizational and concise business writing skills, with effective communication across diverse stakeholders

Nice-to-haves

  • Business-level proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus
