Job Responsibilities:
As a Full Stack Software Engineer in our Big Data team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and deploying web and cloud applications using cutting-edge technologies such as Hadoop, Big Data, Python, SQL, and UNIX shell scripting.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions that meet customer needs.
- Participating in code reviews and testing to ensure high-quality code and efficient deployment.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Automating processes and scaling applications to meet business demands.
- Leading small teams of developers and influencing them to achieve their full potential.
- Impacting colleagues with innovative ideas and enhancements through testing and showcasing risk-taking.
- Creating and testing software, including ongoing refactoring of code and driving continuous improvement in code structure and quality.
- Focusing on writing code, API specs, leading code reviews, and testing in continuous runs or doing proof of concepts/automation tools.
- Applying design patterns and other strategies to quickly track ideas.
- Capabilities as a core member of a Scrum team driving customer story analysis and elaboration, design and development of software applications, testing, and build automation tools.
- Managing a specific stage/item or as part of a powerful asset pool assigned to projects based on interest and business need.
- Identifying opportunities to adopt creative advancements.
- Embodying a rebel with a cause mindset by looking beyond the obvious for consistent improvement potential opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in programming development and leading teams of developers and Scrum teams.
- 3+ years of active experience working with Hive, Hadoop, and Spark (core, SQL, and PySpark).
- Strong Data Warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of Financial reporting environment will be an asset.
- Master on Distributed environment.
- Active involvement in programming using Core Java or Python/Scala.
- Master on Hadoop and Spark design and its functioning standards.
- Involved insight on writing and grasping complex SQL (Hive/PySpark-dataframes), improving joins while handling large amounts of data.
- Experience in UNIX shell scripting.
- Ability to design and develop advanced data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
- Should have insight in analysis, design, development, testing, and execution of system applications.
- Exhibited ability to create and record technical and practical recommendations and analyze software and system processing streams.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP/AWS, building Microservices and mobile applications, will be an asset.
- 3+ years of experience in planning and building solutions using Kafka streams or queues.
- Experience with GitHub/Bitbucket and using CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with NoSQL i.e., HBase, Couchbase, MongoDB is a plus.
- Amazing technical and analytical fitness.
