About the position What You'll Do: As a Global Industrial Engineer, the candidate will have responsibility for all aspects of direct and indirect labor for the assigned plant. They will collaborate with Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering, MSAP, and Product Development Engineering / Program Management to develop efficient operations for forward model programs, and they will work with the plant Industrial Engineers at their assigned plant to drive efficiency and maintain various ongoing measures of labor cost. The scope of responsibility will be a North American vehicle assembly plant, and occasional travel will be required to support new model build events and launches. As a Global Industrial Engineer, the successful candidate will be proficient in GSPAS, including both VPS and APT, with deep knowledge of allocations and time studies.

Responsibilities

Support forward model and capacity cost studies for all milestones including Direct Labor and Indirect Labor in Vehicle Assembly Lead new model labor optimization efforts to achieve labor targets, through benchmarking, target setting, tracking process change, and replication across programs Co-lead the Cycle Line Layout planning process Support virtual build events with future model operator allocations and time studies, and work with plants to support physical build events & program launches Minimize and/or offset labor impacts through labor blitzes, plant tasks/projects, and identifying design/process opportunities Assist with operator allocations, cycle line layouts, plant rebalances, line speed changes, time studies, throughput issues, and launch support Accurately maintain and deliver required IE documentation (Labor Glidepath, Program cost study response, Labor by Department, Plant Line speed, APT Assessment, etc.) Develop & document standardization of methods & procedures for the organization Drive & implement labor efficiency through deployment of global IE process, tools and standards Work with plants to complete & evaluate time studies using MODAPTS as the measurement tool for work standards Collaborate and work closely with manufacturing engineering, material handling, ergonomics, Finance, and/or plant personnel Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Engineering Plant Industrial Engineering & manufacturing operations experience preferred MODAPTS certification Experience working in a team environment Excellent verbal/written communication skills Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Strong planning and organizational skills Work well under pressure You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply! Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering
  • Plant Industrial Engineering & manufacturing operations experience preferred
  • MODAPTS certification
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Work well under pressure
