Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our Item Execution and Instrumentation Group. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our data pipelines and information systems. You'll work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop scalable and efficient solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
- Designing, building, and maintaining our data pipelines and information systems using Scala, Python, and Flash
- Developing ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Implementing Lakehouse engineering, working with key partners to move towards a Lakehouse-driven data stage
- Collaborating with Data Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to design, execute, and deliver effective data solutions
- Maintaining detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
- Ensuring high functional proficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Engineering teams)
- Being a proactive member and advocate of agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and collaboration upgrades for your team
- Being an issue solver; when given new challenges, you're expected to research and organize to find solutions
- Seeking out answers to business problems and looking for opportunities to automate processes and streamline costs
- Engaging with and understanding our clients, forming relationships that enable us to understand and focus on both innovative new offerings and steady platform upgrades
Required Education, Experience, Abilities, and Training
* Strong algorithmic thinking ability
- Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Active involvement in deployed systems, such as Flash and PySpark to query and handle data
- Strong key Scala as well as Python programming skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Cloud advancements like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Experience with at least one significant MPP or cloud database technology (Ideally Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining Data Pipelines with Databricks
- Experience in Data Modeling procedures and Data Warehousing standard approaches and practices
- Familiarity with Scrum and Spry approaches
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work with others and build consensus in a cross-functional team towards an optimal result
Required Education
* Four-year degree in Computer Science, Data Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
