Water Resources Engineer
EVS, Inc. is a pioneer in renewable energy with a strong focus on civil and electrical engineering. They are seeking an Engineering Associate II – Water Resources to develop hydrologic and hydraulic models, support design teams, and contribute to site designs for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models using tools like QGIS and HEC-RAS with minimal supervision
- Translate survey, geotechnical, and regulatory data into clear, accurate digital models and reports
- Support design teams with calculations for culverts, drainage features, stormwater systems, and grading optimization
- Prepare hydrology and stormwater reports that are clear, accurate, and compliant with project and regulatory requirements
- Perform quality control reviews of junior staff work, providing constructive feedback and technical guidance
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-disciplinary teams to support successful project delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement of modeling workflows, documentation, and QA/QC practices
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 1–4 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, or related civil engineering work
- Proficiency with QGIS or ArcMap for data processing and map generation
- Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering principles
- Experience working with engineering standards, permitting requirements, and local or state regulations
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and Bluebeam for documentation and QA/QC
- Strong problem-solving skills, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset
